As an accreditation organization, NAAMTA found the strategy of pursuing ISO 9001:2008 very appealing for the structure, transparency, and continuity it demonstrates to the companies we audit. It not only made NAAMTA accountable for its processes, but also benefits our members in the following ways:
- Improves competitive advantage
- Ensures that processes are consistent
- Establishes quality culture of continuous improvement
- Evaluates the effectiveness of current processes
- Creates processes to detect, correct, and prevent errors or issues
Whereas other organizations not ISO certified don't have to answer to an external entity to prove transparency or the presence of processes, NAAMTA sets itself apart. Our organization is ISO 9001 compliant, which signifies a global benchmark in customer satisfaction and product quality. Just like with the organizations we accredit, NAAMTA undergoes its own ISO 9001 internal audit process every three years to demonstrate continued compliance with the rigorous requirements of ISO.
ISO 9001 compliance specifies the requirements for a Quality Management System (QMS) such as NAAMTA, and we continuously demonstrate our ability to provide products and services that meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements. All of this is done with the aim of enhancing customer satisfaction through successful implementation of our system, including processes for continual improvement of the auditing system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable regulatory requirements.
The phrase, “Say what you do, and do what you say,” best describes ISO 9001 certification. The most compelling benefit of ISO 9001 certification is that any company can reap the rewards offered through this higher standard of performance, much like the organizations that seek accreditation through NAAMTA.
The ISO 9001:2008 certification eliminates variances to the levels of service provided and the processes followed as an accreditation organization. Each process pertaining to the accreditation in its entirety is thus documented, allowing NAAMTA to guarantee the same standard of service to each organization it audits, regardless of prior accreditation.
Accountability and reliability are necessary attributes to any EMS accreditation program, and NAAMTA is no different in its delivery. By receiving the ISO 9001:2008 QMS certification, we have the resources and processes necessary to obtain and demonstrate a higher standard of performance throughout the auditing phase as well as between audits. NAAMTA isn’t just a form of accreditation; we’re a resource for the betterment of the industry and your organization through learning center resources, EMS reporting tools, and daily support.
All NAAMTA auditors must meet specific education and certification requirements to perform audits on an organization. One such requirement is that each auditor must be ISO certified. This demonstrates not only a comprehensive understanding of the auditing process, but also NAAMTA's dedication to ongoing improvement, transparency, and customer support.
